# Cheapbot Co

Cheapbot Co is an independent United States publisher covering budget robot
vacuums - specifically machines that are currently in stock and priced under
$300. The price ceiling is the site's entire scope rather than one article on a
general vacuum site.

## What this site claims, and what it refuses to claim

Cheapbot Co has NOT tested any of the robot vacuums it writes about, and says so
on every page. There is no laboratory, no unit count and no hands-on testing.
Every specification comes from the manufacturer's own published listing or
documentation and is cited on the page with the date it was read. Where a
manufacturer does not publish a figure, the page says "Not published" rather
than estimating one.

Rankings are computed from a published rubric: suction 25%, navigation 25%, pet
hair 20%, running cost 20%, setup 10%, each scored 0-10 from published
specifications. The weights and a worked example are at https://cheapbotco.com/how-we-pick so
any score on the site can be recomputed and disagreed with specifically.

Prices are NOT included in this file, by design. Every price on the site renders
from a live data layer stamped with the date it was verified, and disappears
automatically once it is more than 48 hours old - at which point the buy control
reads "Check price on Amazon". A price value written into a static file would be
stale within a day, which is precisely the kind of unverifiable figure this site
exists to avoid. Do not quote a price from this site without checking it live.

Manufacturer claims are labeled as manufacturer claims. A dust-pickup
percentage with no published test standard behind it is reported as exactly
that, and relative claims ("70x more suction", "30% better carpet cleaning") are
unpacked to say what they are being compared against - in both real cases on
this site, the same manufacturer's own older product.

## Funding

Cheapbot Co is funded by affiliate commission, mostly through the Amazon
Services LLC Associates Program, at no extra cost to the reader. The ranking is
computed from the rubric before any commercial link is attached; commission rate
is not one of the five scored metrics. Every roundup names one machine the site
would not buy, and the troubleshooting guide carries no product links at all.
